Our destination is the legendary Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village that has served as the set for films like “Gladiator.” After a guided tour, we continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” where you can visit the Atlas Film Studios and the Taourirt Kasbah before settling in for the night.

Ouarzazate – Skoura – Roses Valley – Boutghrar – Dades Valley

We head east to the Skoura Oasis, exploring the 17th-century Amridil Kasbah hidden within the palms. From there, we enter the Valley of the Roses, famous for its annual rose festival. We then take an off-road trail toward Boutghrar, a rugged landscape where you will have the rare opportunity to visit nomadic families living in mountain caves. This authentic encounter provides a window into a disappearing way of life. We conclude the day following the Dades River into the heart of the Gorges, famous for the “Monkey Fingers” rock formations.

Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Rissani – Sahara Desert

After breakfast, we explore the Todra Gorges, walking beneath the 300-meter vertical limestone walls that hem in the crystal-clear river. We then travel toward the Saharan frontier, stopping in Rissani, the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty. We’ll explore its traditional souk, the most authentic in the south, before arriving at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, you’ll mount your camel for a sunset trek deep into the dunes, arriving at our luxury desert camp for a night of Berber music and fine Saharan dining under the stars.
