Good to know

Before you go

The questions travelers ask most about this trip.

Is this itinerary suitable for families?

Absolutely. The mix of adventure, history and city exploration makes it ideal for all ages.

Can we customize the desert activities?

Yes. We can include quad biking, sandboarding or extra time with local nomad families.

Where does the tour end?

Wherever suits you in Tangier: the airport, the ferry port or any hotel in the city centre.

How is this different from your 9-day Marrakech to Tangier tour?

The routes are the same as far as Chefchaouen. This 10-day version adds a night in Tangier, with time for the Kasbah and the corniche, while the 9-day tour transfers from Chefchaouen straight to your flight or ferry.

Can we start in Tangier instead?

Yes. See our 10-day Morocco tour from Tangier to Marrakech, or ask us to run this route in reverse.

How much driving is there?

Some legs involve longer drives, especially from Merzouga to Fes. We prioritise comfort with frequent scenic stops and tea breaks.

What should I pack?

Layers: the desert and the Rif Mountains can be cool at night, while the cities are often warm. Wi-Fi is standard in riads but can be patchy at the desert camp.

When is the best time to go?

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are ideal for the whole route. Summer is very hot in the desert, and winter nights can be cold in the mountains.
